Student of the Vietnamese Therapeutic Massage Course in Dec 2024
Nguyễn Đức Hải, born in 2006 in Hải Dương, had a normal childhood filled with dreams and aspirations. However, in the second semester of his 11th grade, his life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with glaucoma. The disease led to optic nerve atrophy, causing severe vision loss—his eyesight declined to just 1/10, making it difficult for him to see clearly.
At first, the news was overwhelming. The thought of losing his vision left Hải feeling lost and discouraged. However, with the love and encouragement of his family, friends, and community, he found the strength to adapt and move forward. Instead of letting his condition define his future, Hải chose to embrace new opportunities.
After graduating from high school, Hải was fortunate to join a therapeutic massage training course sponsored by BlindLink, in collaboration with the Vietnam Rehabilitation Center for the Blind. He also attended a rehabilitation program organized by the Employment Support Center for the Blind in Hải Dương. Determined to build a better future, Hải successfully completed the basic course and was introduced to further training in Hanoi at 217 Trung Kính, a facility dedicated to visually impaired individuals.
For Hải, this journey is about more than just learning a new skill—it represents independence, self-improvement, and the hope of supporting his family. He aspires to refine his abilities, find stable employment, and contribute to society. Despite the challenges he has faced, Hải continues to move forward with resilience and optimism, proving that obstacles can be overcome with determination and courage.
Through his story, Hải hopes to inspire others who may be facing similar hardships. He believes that while life can bring unexpected difficulties, perseverance and support from loved ones can open new doors and lead to a fulfilling future.
