Student of the Vietnamese Therapeutic Massage Course in Dec 2024
Hoàng Việt Anh, born in 2001 in Hưng Yên, has never let his circumstances define his future. Born visually impaired due to retinal damage, he has learned to adapt to daily life despite the challenges of mobility and crossing streets.
After completing a basic massage therapy course, he started working at a massage center. However, the number of clients was low, and his monthly income ranged from just a few hundred thousand to about one million VND. Tips from clients were modest—typically between 20,000 to 50,000 VND, with only 1-2 out of every 10 clients offering a tip.
Determined to improve his skills and career prospects, Việt Anh enrolled in a therapeutic massage course sponsored by BlindLink and co-organized with the Vietnam Rehabilitation Center for the Blind. The course proved to be life-changing. His techniques improved significantly, and he gained confidence in his work.
Việt Anh dreams of working in Hanoi, where he hopes to continue learning and developing his expertise. At his workplace, clients seek massage therapy purely for health benefits, and there is a professional and respectful atmosphere.
Despite his visual impairment, Việt Anh refuses to be held back. He is proof that resilience, learning, and determination can open doors to a better future. His journey is not just about overcoming obstacles but about inspiring others to pursue their dreams, no matter the challenges they face.
